Justice… Relevant Again

Justice Vs. Ratatat- We Are Your Friends (BearBot Mashup) (Link 2)

Oh, don’t you love the feeling? We were sick to death of Justice and their ‘oh so familiar’ tunage, but things are on the up.

For a good year or so, Gaspard Auge and Xavier De Rosnay dominated blogs, aggregators and the radio, yet eventually, not even an endless stream of remixes (with contributions by the band themselves) could keep the fire alive. We got bored.

However, for every person going off Justice, there were people behind the curve, willing to take up the mantle. And on it went. The cycle looped and looped until eventually, Hype Machine ran out of visitors. Justice were no longer the most popular act. Their reign was over.

Or it was, until people started to get really inventive. Immuzikation (check this dude out, you wont be dissapointed) used them, remixes started to become more outrageous, and Webbafied rapped over ‘Cross’, revealing a layer of character that was completely lost on me at first.

The latest addition to the club of inventive Juicetice users is BearBot, who have respectfully mashed Ratatat and Justice together. Ratatat are truly unique, and sound like something from another planet, so they were a perfect candidate to make ‘We Are Your Friends’ fresh again. I like. What do you think?
