… Imogen Heap would be a superstar by now. Kanye West’s blog post (however kind) would not be one of the pieces (the other being that O.C. spot of course) to Imogen’s popularity puzzle. We all saw that video ages ago and were astounded how two uber indie people (Zach Braff and Imogen) found themselves in the same room?! Oh, and the performance was so killer- best live use of a loop machine in ages.

… Every concert would feature Justin Timberlake noodling on a piano, with a team of backing drummers. ‘Dead And Gone’ was red-hot at the Grammys…

… Sam Sparro’s self titled debut album would have spawned 6 number one singles. His stripped back performance of ‘Black And Gold’ on Jools Holland’s Hootenanny cemented his place in history.
… Kid Cudi wouldn’t have to keep striving. He’s a ‘top artist for 2009′- the tunes keep coming (see his quick verse over ‘Someone Great’) but he isn’t getting any more recognition? Can anyone explain this to us?
… Katy Perry would give up on the live circuit (because… uh… she can’t sing?) and rely on a steady stream of remixes to keep her hype levels up. We would give in and concede… her tunes are catchy.

Random thoughts that may make the world a better place, or misguided hopes? We are, however, more interested in hearing the things that would make your day…
When Feist used to preformed the Nina Simone cover Sea Lion she would use the loop machine in a similar fashion. I believe there is an mp3 floating around of her at Park West in Chicago using that technique.
Brilliant. Why comment at all?
