N.A.S.A.- Money (ft. David Byrne, Chuck D, Ras Congo, Seu Jorge & Z-Trip) (Link 2)

‘The Spirit Of Apollo’ polarised opinion. Bitchfork gave out a ridiculous 1.6, whilst some said it was ‘the best album ever’. We don’t think it’s worthy of either title/bitch-slap.

N.A.S.A. have already released 3 videos, and I am ashamed to say I had absolutely no idea of their existence. My opinion on the album isn’t particularly exciting. I think that it’s very good, if not great, but mostly due to 4-5 very well thought out songs. I also think that its stupid for people to pinch Squeak E. Clean and DJ Zegon for their style. It is what it is- they are DJ’s by nature and as it turns out, they produce very well. And they stuck to their roots.

Regardless of your opinion, I think most people would find it hard to argue that ‘Whacadoin’ and ‘Gifted’ are anything short of incredible. I’m also pretty excited to watch the documentary when it arrives- the crew covered the recording of the album, and it will be great to see some of the collaborations coming together on film. In the preview, M.I.A. and Santogold are jamming on the same mic!
