Passion Pit – The Reeling

Another stuttering beauty from the Yankee purveyors of sci-fi lullabies for the discerning electro-head.

This has a muscularity to it that was well-hidden on “Sleepyhead”: the beat is about as close to a break as you’re going to get with music this sweet-natured, and this sounds like it might be made for playing in the club rather than a bedsit for lonely hearts at 3am. We’re not quite reeling yet, but a few more of this quality and it could be love…

chunk of change was spontaneous and immediate and so manners should be more mature, move ahead and show growth. I think the reeling shows introspection as well as real musical growth. the structure and multiple layers are attributes of this true, creative, complex songwriter’s compositions. I love the interesting intro leading into the driving rhythm as well as the leitmotif throughout! As always, the music is euphoric but the lyrics deep, introspective and revealing of angelakos’ true, innermost feelings and experiences. Is he happy or sad? What more can anyone ask for but to experience a most beautiful package such as this? i just can’t wait for the rest of it.
