VW Brown – Shark in the Water

……and like the eponymous killer, this will creep up on you and take your legs away.

This ray of sunshine pop starts innocuously enough with some wafting calypso guitar and backing vocals, but soon bursts into a chorus that IS going to soundtrack your summer.

It already has all the crucial ingredients of a UK summer hit: massive pop chorus, a big brass section carrying it upwards, and a video featuring the Topshop-clad artist strutting around London on one of the 3 days of sunshine it gets a year. God knows if VW has any thing else of this quality in her garage, but “Shark…” will be belting from every top-down convertible, open window, barbeque and party that you come across this summer, and for now it feels like you won’t ever get sick of it. A Rolls-Royce rather than a VW.

   got in from work last night and caught the tale end of a program on channel 4, don letts. and this girl. caught this track, wow, blew me away.
